I get emails nearly every day all asking pretty similar questions, so I thought I would put together a quick Nintendo DS Lite FAQ which hopefully will help everyone with what they would like to know. I will also provide some links to other resources for additional information if it’s required.

Nintendo DS Lite FAQ’s

Q. What is the difference between the original Nintendo DS and the newer Nintendo DS Lite?

A. The Nintendo DS Lite is much smaller and lighter than the original DS. It weighs approx 60gm less and has a much brighter screen. They stylus is slightly longer and thicker than in the original. The battery life is also far superior in the NDS Lite.

Q. Do the games work on either the Nintendo DS or the Nintendo DS Lite?

A. Yes - Nintendo DS Lite games work on either the original Nintendo DS or the Nintendo DS Lite. In addition if you’re upgrading from a Gameboy Advance to a DS Lite, then the Nintendo Gameboy Advance games also work in the DS Lite.

Q. What colors does the Nintendo DS Lite come in?

A. The DS Lite comes in a number of different colors: Nintendo DS Lite Black, Nintendo DS Lite Blue, Nintendo DS Lite Pink, Nintendo DS Lite White and limited edition colors such as the Nintendo DS Lite Crimson & Black.

Q. How long does the battery last on the Nintendo DS Lite?

A. The Nintendo DS Lite battery lasts for approximately 18 hours of continuous usage.

A. Well this is a hard one, as just about everyone has a different opinion. So what I’ve done is totalled up the answers my readers have given me at different times and list the Top 5. I’ll put them in order of highest to lowest number of votes. Now I’m sure some of you will disagree, so please don’t string me up :), just put your own preference in the comments below and share your opinion with us all.

  1. if my charger is broken and someone in my family throws it out….can nintendo ds send me a new one fro free or do i have to pay for it if im still under warranty

  2. @Amanda - unfortunately I would say that Nintendo would not replace the charger under those circumstances. To my knowledge the faulty product always needs to be returned to the manufacturer for checking.
